A bottom connection for a buckling-restrained brace frames into a wide-flange column and wide-flange beam intersection along the strong axis. A gusset plate connects the brace to the column and beam web, backed by half-inch plate stiffeners welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides typical. The beam-to-column connection utilizes a bolted shear tab on one side and a bolted flange plate on the other, sized per the structural plans. Hatching indicates the extent of the protected zone around the brace connection. Gusset plate connection details follow the manufacturer's series drawings.
