Standard reinforcement configuration around small openings in a concrete slab. The opening is limited to a maximum dimension of four feet by four feet. One number five reinforcing bar is placed top and bottom on all four sides of the perimeter, extending one foot past the opening corners. One number four by four-foot diagonal bar is positioned top and bottom at each of the four corners.
