A hollow structural section hanger is centered on the supporting steel beam and attached using a three-eighths-inch by six-inch by zero-foot-six-inch plate inserted into a slot in the HSS. The slotted plate is secured to the HSS with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A supported steel beam connects to the lower portion of the HSS hanger using a bolted connection per detail four on sheet S700. Elevation elevations for the top of beam are sized per plan.
