Steel web stiffener plates are welded to the web and flanges of a wide flange beam per plan where required. The assembly includes a minimum one-quarter-inch thick stiffener plate with a typical snip plate detail at the flange intersection. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld attaches the stiffener plate to the beam web. Dimensions are governed by the beam k-distance plus one and one-half inches typical unless otherwise noted. Both full height and partial height stiffener configurations are provided.
