A hollow structural section wind girt bears on a seat angle formed by an L5x3x3/8 angle spanning the column width. The girt is secured with five-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds. The seat angle is welded to the steel column with one-quarter-inch typical fillet welds on both sides.
