A structural steel gusset plate is welded to a steel column and a base plate to receive a buckling-restrained brace. The gusset plate features a bolted connection for the brace and is welded along its vertical edge to the column flange and along its horizontal edge to the top of the base plate. Layout dimensions locate the working point at the top of the base plate relative to the column centerlines.
