A three-by-four wood nailer with five-eighth-inch diameter countersunk welded studs spaced at sixteen inches on center bears on a hollow structural section member sized per plan. Wood blocking members and two LTP4 clips per blocking secure the sub-purlin framing. A one-quarter-inch plate measuring five inches wide connects the wood beam using a single three-quarter-inch diameter through bolt. A one-quarter-inch weld connects the plate to the hollow structural section member. Additional connection details to the steel girder or wide flange beam are referenced in section B-B.
