A standard pipe post bears above a supporting steel beam sized per plan with a maximum eleven-foot spacing to adjacent framing. A diagonal kicker brace extends from the beam web to stabilize the post assembly, secured with bolted connections at both ends. Full depth web stiffeners measuring three-quarters of an inch thick are welded to both sides of the support beam web using five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A half-inch top and bottom weld secures the post base connection. Metal decking runs continuously across the structural framing as indicated on plan.
