Type 2 stiffener plates are welded to the column web and aligned with the beam flanges on both the near side and far side unless otherwise noted. Fillet welds secure the stiffener plates to the column web and flanges typically. Additional fillet welds connect the beam flanges to the column face and stiffener assembly.
