A structural steel beam frames into a steel column sized per plan with top of steel elevations per plan. Full height stiffener plates matching the beam flange width and column flange thickness are aligned with the column flanges on both sides, with a minimum thickness of 3/8 inch. These stiffener plates are welded to the column using 1/4 inch fillet welds applied to three sides typically. Bolted connections secure the beam flanges to the column assembly per sheet reference 20/SF6.02 at the top and 19/SF6.02 at the bottom.
