A steel beam connects to a supporting steel column using double L4x3x3/8 angles framing the web. The angles attach to the supported beam web with bolts sized and quantified per table C, utilizing standard holes and a three-inch on-center vertical spacing with one-and-a-half-inch edge distances. The angles connect to the face of the supporting member using five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds with three-quarter-inch returns at the top. A half-inch clearance is maintained between the beam end and the column face.
