A metal stud connects to an eighteen gauge slip track featuring a two inch leg and one inch length vertical slotted holes at each side of the track, centered on the screw. The assembly maintains a one eighth inch typical clearance and a one eighth inch clearance to the top of the stud. Connection is achieved using number ten self-drilling screws with wafer heads located on each side of the stud.
