This assembly connects a steel beam to a steel column using a shear connection plate. The beam web is bolted to the shear tab with five bolts, spaced at three inches on center, with a two-inch edge distance. Four half-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to the column web and flanges on three sides, as indicated by the typical weld symbols.
