A rectangular reinforced concrete column measuring 24 inches by 48 inches is detailed with interior reinforcing steel and ties. Longitudinal reinforcing bars are positioned at the corners and along the perimeter of the cross section. Internal ties feature alternating hook configurations for confinement. A concrete clear cover of 1 1/2 inches is maintained to the outside face of the ties.
