An 8-inch wide reinforced concrete pit wall receives an embedded continuous 3/4-inch by 8-inch steel plate anchored with three-quarter-inch diameter rods at 12 inches on center. The plate supports an escalator attachment angle provided by the manufacturer, welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Wall reinforcing includes number 5 bars extending 2 feet beyond the pit wall at each end, plus number 4 bars spaced at 16 inches. Additional wall reinforcing follows standard wall details with a 2-to-1 concrete slope profile.
