A structural steel buckling-restrained braced frame connection details a beam stub framing into a column web with complete joint penetration welds at the web and top and bottom flanges. The brace connects to a beam stub sized per schedule or an optional continuous gusset plate with a thickness matching or exceeding the beam stub web. Top and bottom horizontal plates match the beam stub flanges and are welded with complete joint penetration welds. Centerlines of the beam, column, and stub align to transfer lateral loads effectively through the structural frame.
