An HSS elevator divider beam connects between aligned HSS guiderail support columns with a slotted slip connection allowing vertical adjustment. Five-inch long L6x4x5/16 angles attach to each side of the lower column and secure to the divider beam with a three-quarter-inch through-bolt placed in a two-inch vertical slotted hole with double nuts. A one-inch clearance gap is maintained between the column and the beam. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch and three-sixteenth-inch sizes secure the steel connection elements.
