A one-and-one-half-inch diameter painted steel handrail is supported by a mounting bracket secured to a vertical steel post or column. The handrail maintains a two-and-one-quarter-inch clearance from the center line of the post. The top of the handrail is positioned thirty-six inches above the stair nosing with a one-and-one-half-inch clear space below the bracket connection.
