The steel tube stair stringer bears onto a concrete slab on grade or concrete over steel deck, secured with a four-inch-long L4x4x1/4 angle welded to the stringer with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on three sides. A three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchor fastens each angle to the concrete slab or deck. A one-quarter-inch thick steel closure plate caps the end of the stair stringer. For the framed condition, a steel beam supports the concrete deck with beam web stiffener plates installed on each side.
