An existing steel beam supports a suspended ceiling system via a ceiling clip made from thirteen gauge by three-quarters inch minimum steel attached to the bottom flange with a shot-in anchor. A vertical hanger wire with three tight turns in one and a half inches suspends from the clip and is tested for two hundred pounds. A splayed brace wire oriented at forty-five degrees features four tight turns and connects to a one inch wide by ninety-seven mil minimum steel strap fastened to the beam bottom flange with a shot-in anchor tested for four hundred and forty pounds. The maximum distance from the edge of the flange to the anchor attachment is five-eighths of an inch.
