Existing tie beams and pile cap are demolished after temporary shoring is installed to support the remaining column. A new concrete footing and pile cap are constructed around the existing concrete pile, maintaining a three-inch typical clearance. A bond breaker is applied around the existing pile, and existing concrete surfaces are roughened to a quarter-inch minimum amplitude. The existing pile is demolished after the new footing reaches twenty-eight-day concrete strength.
