Electrical conduit is routed within concrete masonry unit cells, preferably in cells without reinforcing where possible. Conduit must remain untied to the reinforcing steel and is prohibited in the last cell. Clearance requirements dictate one and a half inches of clear space around the reinforcing bars, with a maximum of one-eighth inch clearance all around. Concrete masonry units are cut to accommodate electrical outlet boxes without over-cutting.
2. 1. NOTES: PLACE CONDUIT IN CELLS W/O REINF WHERE POSSIBLE. DO NOT TIE CONDUIT TO REINFORCING. NO CONDUIT IN LAST CELL CUT CMU FOR ELECTRICAL OUTLET BOX - DO NOT OVER CUT OF REINF 1 1/2" CLR ALL AROUND 1/8" CLR MAX OF REINF 1 1/2" CLR
