This wide flange column base connection features a three-quarter-inch A36 steel base plate secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts. One-half-inch A36 stiffener side plates are welded to each side of the column web with one-quarter-inch fillet welds, and the plate width matches the column flange width above. A one-half-inch minimum steel shear tab is connected to the assembly using five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. Edge distances and bolt spacings follow typical American Institute of Steel Construction specifications.
