A dropped steel deck framing connects to a hollow structural section column using Grade 50 plates sized to match the bottom flange width and thickness. Full-height stiffener plates are welded near side and far side to the column web. Base plates and bearing plates secure the framing connections with quarter-inch fillet welds.
