Unreinforced round openings in Type N roof deck are permitted up to five and one-half inches in diameter maximum when located in the high flute. Unreinforced round openings in Type HSB roof deck are limited to four and one-half inches maximum in the high flute. Round or square openings through one deck low flute are permitted up to thirteen inches maximum in diameter when centered on the low flute and when reinforcing steel extends two flutes minimum beyond each side of the opening.
