An L4x4x1/4 by 1'-3" angle connects each side of a masonry bond beam to an overhead concrete slab or beam. Two 5/8-inch diameter expansion anchors with a 4-inch embedment secure the angle at 12 inches on center. A typical top-of-wall gap is maintained beneath the structural slab. A minimum 6-inch edge distance is required to the concrete edge. This detail is not to be used at post-tensioned slabs.
