A structural detail for a two-sided beam-to-girder connection configured for both matching and differing beam depths. For conditions where the beam depth difference exceeds one inch, a WT shape matching the flange width of the beam is provided and welded to the underside with a quarter-inch fillet weld, extending two feet from the centerline. For conditions where the beam depth difference is one inch or less, standard shear tabs are bolted to the web of the supporting girder with sizing and bolt counts specified per plan. Complete penetration welds are specified at the top and bottom flanges with a one-inch maximum clearance, and weld backup plates are omitted from the drawing for clarity. Bolt spacing and edge distances follow AISC specifications throughout.
