An L4x4x5/16 angle brace frames perpendicular to the top flange of an open web steel joist, skewed as required. The brace connects to a 1/4-inch by 4-inch by 6-inch plate welded to the joist panel point with a 3/16-inch fillet weld on three sides. An L4x4x1/4 angle measuring 1 foot zero inches long ties into the panel point. Section A-A details the perpendicular orientation of the kicker to the joist top chord.
