A concrete wall bears upon a concrete footing reinforced with horizontal and bent dowels matching the vertical reinforcement in the wall above. An expansion joint filler material separates the concrete slab-on-grade from the face of the concrete wall. The top of the footing features a quarter-inch roughened surface at the cold joint. Backfill is placed against the exterior wall after the interior slab-on-grade is in place, with a thirty-inch minimum depth shown.
