A metal roof deck spans parallel to a structural steel beam, supported by a deck filler matching the deck gauge as required. Sideseam connections are provided at the deck filler to metal deck per the metal deck schedule. Openings through the metal deck are restricted to three-inch maximum diameter through the top flute and one-and-a-half-inch maximum diameter through the bottom flute without cutting deck webs. Deck webs remain uncut, and additional reinforcement of six times the diameter of a larger opening but not less than twelve inches each way is required if openings are closer or larger than specified.
