A roof anchor and attachment provided by the supplier mounts directly above a steel column supporting a metal roof deck. The anchor connects through a minimum one-half-inch thick steel cap plate welded to the column. Three-quarter-inch by three-inch by one-foot-zero-inch minimum length stiffener plates weld to each side of the column condition. The assembly accommodates an ultimate anchor load of plus or minus five kips, with the maximum two-foot height sized per the supplier.
