A wide-flange beam frames into a wide-flange steel column via a three-quarter-inch thick plate matching the column depth plus one inch centered. An L4x4x1/2 angle one foot long connects the beam top flange using four seven-eighth-inch diameter A325-N bolts at usual gauge with standard holes each side. The connection plate is secured to the column flange with a three-eighth-inch fillet weld typically on the far side, while five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the seat assembly. The beam size and top of steel elevation are sized per plan, and the column is sized per the structural column schedule.
