A concrete slab rests on a steel beam with a shear stud connector centered on the beam web. A 97 mil cold-formed steel end closure forms the slab edge, reinforced by a number 4 continuous reinforcing bar. The slab maintains a 1 inch clear cover over the reinforcement. When the distance X exceeds 12 inches, additional number 3 reinforcing bars are spaced at 12 inches on center with a standard hook, extending 4 feet from the beam centerline.
