A structural steel beam connects to the web of a column using a welded and bolted single plate shear tab. The shear tab is welded to the column web with a scheduled weld plus one-sixteenth inch added, and bolted to the supported beam web with rows of bolts sized per structural notes and framing plans. An additional web plate is provided at the beam end as indicated in the plan view, with specific clearances maintained at the top of steel and k-dimension region.
