A deep-leg deflection track connects to the overhead beam or slab using Simpson 0.157PDPAT-62KP fasteners spaced at six inches on center. Steel studs sit within the track with a one-inch vertical gap to allow for structural deflection, and top screws through the sheathing or gypsum board must be positioned one and a half inches below the track without fixing the studs directly to the top track. An additional row of lateral bracing ties the studs together below the track assembly.
