A structural steel beam supports a wood nailer at its top flange with a two and a half inch clearance dimension indicated. A circular service hole is cut through the beam web for a sprinkler line, maintaining a two inch minimum distance from the top flange and a six inch maximum location offset per the sprinkler drawings. The beam size and nailer configuration are sized per plan.
