A structural steel beam frames into a column web using a shear tab sized per the schedule with edge distance and bolt spacing conforming to AISC specifications. Top and bottom plates of three-quarter inch thickness are welded to the column flange, with one-half inch plates permitted for W10x or smaller beams. A five-sixteenth inch fillet weld attaches the plate to the column flange, and a second row of bolts is provided where required. Clearances and detailing comply with the "K1" requirement per the AISC manual.
