A concrete curb rises from a structural slab with a keyed construction joint at the base, measuring 3-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches deep. The curb has a maximum height "D" of 2 feet 6 inches and a thickness "T" of 30 inches, reinforced with a continuous number 5 bar at the top. Number 4 stirrups are spaced at 9 inches on center when depth "D" exceeds 10 inches, or at 12 inches on center when depth "D" is less than or equal to 10 inches. Additional number 4 bars run horizontally at 10 inches on center through the curb height, and alternate hooks are placed in the slab where possible.
