A concrete slab on grade bears on a thickened concrete footing at a stair connection location. The assembly includes a one-foot-thick thickened concrete footing reinforced with two continuous number five bars and number five reinforcing bars spaced at twelve inches on center. The footing extends twelve inches beyond each stair stringer. Stair stringer attachment to the slab is provided by the stair supplier with connections designed to accommodate inelastic seismic story drift specified in general structural notes. Felt bond breaker and insulation are provided as indicated on architectural drawings.
