A quarter-inch continuous bent plate sits above a steel beam and adjacent steel deck, framed by a four-inch vertical leg and a six- to twelve-inch horizontal leg. The bent plate is joined with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center typically. A supporting steel beam runs beneath the deck assembly where required.
