A C12x20.7 landing beam bears on a steel column topped with a three-eighths by three-and-a-half by three-and-a-half-inch cap plate. A three-eighths by three-and-a-half by nine-inch connecting plate is welded to the web of the landing beam with quarter-inch fillet welds and secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325-N bolts. The connection is fully welded with quarter-inch fillet welds around the interface of the landing beam and column cap.
