A one-inch concrete fill on a metal deck supports a four-inch concrete slab with number four reinforcing bars at sixteen inches each way, alongside a four-foot concrete pad. Expanded polystyrene foam filler is placed between walls, and concrete contact surfaces are roughened to a quarter-inch amplitude. Additional reinforcement includes number four bars at twelve inches centered at the lower flute and single typical number four bars. The deck must attain full design strength prior to pouring the pad, to be verified with the structural engineer of record.
