Metal deck bears directly on the top flange of a structural steel beam requiring a minimum one and a half inch bearing width. The deck is secured to the steel beam using two powder-actuated fasteners spaced at twelve inches on center along with edge screwing. An adjacent intersecting steel beam connects via a bolted shear tab.
