A steel beam connects to the web of a supporting steel beam using a full-depth web plate secured with bolted connections. The top flange of the supported beam is coped as required to clear the intersecting framing. Concrete over metal floor deck bears across the top flanges of the intersecting steel framing members with a formed joint or closure. Threaded anchors or welded studs secure the deck and concrete assembly above the structural grid.
