A 6-inch by 3/8-inch by 6-inch stabilizer plate with a 13/16-inch diameter hole is provided at steel joists and girders bearing on a structural steel column. The 5-inch deep joist bearing end is secured with two 1/2-inch diameter ASTM A325 erection bolts, while the 7 1/2-inch deep girder bearing end utilizes two 3/4-inch diameter ASTM A325 erection bolts. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch sizes connect the plate to the joist, and 3/16-inch welds secure the stabilizer plate assembly. Bottom chords are left unwelded to the stabilizer plate unless noted otherwise, and metal roof deck spans continuously overhead.
