A square hollow structural section column is welded to a base plate using a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld with an all-around weld symbol. The base plate features four anchor bolts positioned with a typical one and one-half inch clearance from the bolts to the column and plate edge. An optional one inch diameter maximum grout hole is provided with a one and one-half inch minimum clearance requirement from the bolts, column, and base plate edge. Centerline alignment marks intersect at the center of the column and plate. Plate dimensions 'B' and 'N' are referenced from the structural schedule.
