A structural steel beam supports a vertical davit socket pedestal welded to its top flange. The beam connects to a structural steel column with a bolted shear tab on the web and a half-inch by four-inch plate welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld to the beam flanges. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web with quarter-inch fillet welds, aligning with the beam web connection.
