A galvanized steel pipe roof anchor with a stainless steel "U" bar is installed at the high flute of a metal roof deck, bearing down to a structural steel beam sized per plan. The anchor assembly has a maximum working load of 1,000 pounds and an ultimate load of 5,000 pounds, with a variable height up to 2'-0" maximum above the deck. A hollow structural section measuring 3-1/2" by 3-1/2" by 1/4" spans to the adjacent beam at each roof anchor. A 3/8" stiffener plate and a 14-gauge sheet reinforce the connection, secured with typical 3/16" fillet welds.
