A concrete masonry wall plan section features a discontinuous control joint configured with vertical reinforcing placed in the first cell on each side of the joint. Continuous horizontal reinforcement runs through the control joint assembly. The joint is sealed on the exterior faces with caulking sealant backed by a round backer rod.
