An anchor rod is embedded nine inches into a concrete footing. Four number five reinforcing bar hairpins are installed at each anchor rod to provide additional confinement and shear resistance. A one-half inch by four inch by four inch plate washer is positioned at the base of the anchor rod. The hairpins are spaced at two-inch intervals to surround the anchor rod within the footing concrete.
